ahhh... I thought of alot initially.. but all forget liao... sianz.
Anyway I thought of a great idea! We all know that every Chinese New Year we get Angbaos which we treasure alot. But money to you is really relative.
If you got $2 in an Angbao, you feel like your uncle really stingy.
If a beggar got $2 in an Angbao, he feels that that he is really lucky someone like you exists.
If a person in a charity home got $2 in an Angbao, he would feel glad that there is someone there to spend Chinese New Year with him.
Sooo... it's the "Donate Half Your Angbao" movement.
This is how it works, for the 3 days of Chinese New Year, you collate all your Angbao money.
Then you take half of it and pass it to me!!! I will take it and donate to a charity (xing wei's charity... HAHAHAHA no lah. just joking).
Ya basically that's it, its the festive season, half of your angbao isn't alot of money, moreover, its additional money that you can do without. Remember, money is relative, others can do more with those money than you. Give a little. :D
After typing so much, I'm still a weak shit guy with less than a diploma. I want to get this working big scale but it'll take ages. If by next Chinese New Year I can get my friends to follow the movement I very happy liao...
Cheers.

If I set you free, you gain freedom.
But do you know where to go? Will you fly back to me?
Freedom is relative. Freedom can only materialise when you are chained to something. Without being chained, one has no idea of what freedom is.
After experiencing freedom, will you come back to me?
My Eulogy:
He who was...
who he is.
Kind of wierd and simple for an eulogy, but I think I like it. It is simple and to the point. A little wierd but, let's see if you figure out what I mean by these 2 sentences. :D

To tell the truth, I've never asked myself seriously, why continue playing weiqi. It has never occurred to me to ever stop weiqi.
I get questions like:
Why did you start?
How long did you play?
How to improve?
Etc.
Never why continue playing weiqi.
Until recently.
I lost my interest for a moment. Before going back to weiqi, I asked myself. Dude, you think this is better or playing dota is better?
Of course the answer is dota. Dota is hell lot fun.
I get to play dota with my poly friends, we chat about school as we play and we talk a lot of crap.
When I log on to gokgs, all I see is silence. People have not been playing for months and I've been plagued by my ever sliding rank. Not that I actually care about rank but it hurts me to see that I've been sliding down all this time, even if it is not true.
Do you play weiqi to win? Do you enjoy it?
Truth be told from my perspective:
I do whine a little when I lose, but who doesn't. I don't play weiqi to win. In fact, I detest people who play to win. To me, weiqi is an art. It is how you flow with the game. How you discover your own weakness and understand yourself. Each shape, each echo of the click of the stone.
Can you see what intention is behind that stone? Can you see what your opponent is telling you? It doesn't matter if your opponent is skilled or not but you can sense how he feels. Behind each move lies a story. A story of struggle of decisions within the opponent's head. Is he clear? Is he confused? Is he confident? Is he looking down on me?
I like this. I like to read people, to see their reaction when playing. That is the reason I continue to play. When you see me smiling at the board, smiling from cheek to cheek, it is not that I have won, it is when I have enjoyed reading the move. I enjoyed the emotions put behind the stone. Sometimes confidence, sometimes fearfulness and sometimes just randomness.
Because of this enjoyment, I developed a higher-than-thou attitude when playing online weiqi. Are you afraid of me? Are you cautious? Are you arrogant? I see them through almost instantly. But for that same reason I can come to hate weiqi. Most of the moves I play are to test your reaction, to see how your emotions stir. I don't mind resigning anytime, I had my piece of the cake, but what I detest to see is mindless playing. When there is no thinking involved in playing the game, when they follow the pace I of which I play the game.
Where are the emotions? Where are the thoughts? From my perspective, you ruin the game of weiqi, you ruin an art form. Yes, weiqi is an art form.
Whenever I talk about weiqi, I never ignore this phrase.
Hand-talk.
Weiqi is not about surrounding territory, not about killing the opponent, not about the style of playing.
To me, weiqi is just Hand-talk. The language you use when you play, how you say it, how you feel when you play, just brings a smile to my face. For this reason, I've never asked myself, why should I continue.

It ain't a Happy New Year until I say so!
Yea! I take control of my life, I decide when it's a Happy New Year and when it's not!
Projects are tumbling down and I have a oh-god-not-now dan upgrading that I have been looking forward to since last year. That seems pretty far, its only a few months ago actually, but back to the point, It is here at such an awful time, right when my exams are around the corner.
I want to do well for my exams as well as the dan upgrading competition. Heck! I'm too lazy to do my work nowadays.
This is the last semester though, although I'm only 20% filled with the adrenaline to keep going on and do well in this semester, I seem to lack the power to do so at the most critical of times. Makes me just wanna hide at a corner and weep.
I've watched Ip Man for the 2nd time recently and boy was it good! Watching it the second time round was different from the first. During the 1st, I actually paid attention to every little detail there was in the show and got awed.
Well, the second time I watched the show, it was more of a story and looking at how well the actors performed their roles. I read up a little on Wing Chun and Ip Man in order to understand the show better during the 2nd view but I continued to get taken in by the fighting scenes. They are the best and I can't be borthered recognizing any move during the show. What for? They entertainment is too good.
My 2009 new year's resolution:
Learn Wing Chun - Heh! You saw that coming!
Be a vegetarian every friday - For good karma accumulation :D
Go for Chinese tuition - It's important for my future ;)
Play finish all my PS3 games - I have tons of unfinished games
Upgrade to 2 dan - Let's hope this comes true
Ok that's all for this new year's post! Take care!
